Yoga has been part of my life since my early teens, and over the years my practice has continuously provided me with effective tools to navigate through and appreciate the wonderful and messy ups and downs of being human.
My practice and teaching integrates movement practices, philosophical teachings, chanting, and breath awareness. The focus is on process over destination, retrieving intuition and feeling, and honouring the exquisite intelligence of the body. Iβm interested in how the practice can help us to notice the interconnectedness within all things, and remember ourselves as inherently well made, whole and enough. From that place I believe we can enmesh our findings into every aspect of our lives and ultimately look after ourselves, others, and our environment better. I believe the practice provides us with the opportunity to re-sensitise to our own aliveness; not only to get skilled at self sensing, but to reanimate our capacity to feel the continuum between self-body-other-world.
I cherish the relationships I have with my long time teachers, and my main teacher is Jean Hall. Other key teachers for me over the past 20 years have been Aki Omori, Nicole Aarons, Stephanie Snyder, Tiffany Cruikshank, Giovanni Felicioni. My practice and teaching is hugely inspired by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen and her body of work: Body Mind Centering.
I have created The Community, a busy online studio that offers 300+ on demand classes as well as a monthly live gathering.
Iβm also the founder of Tiny&Vast, a yoga school that offers 50hr, 200hr and 300hr trainings for teachers interested in somatic yoga, embodied philosophy and enquiry based pedagogy.
My other loves include exploring Portugal where I live with my family, swimming in cold water, training Capoeira Angola, and mothering my 6 year old daughter, Alba, and my 2 year old daughter, Naia, who teach me all about how to move and live authentically.
